Hologram Bridge

Some tiles of the bridge are only light. Send little scout robots across first, remember where they fell, then walk it yourself before the time runs out.
Play Hologram Bridge ▶What the game is
Hologram Bridge is a memory puzzle about crossing a bridge you cannot trust. Every tile looks the same, but only some of them are really there; the rest are light, and you fall through. A robot goes first, then another, and each one that falls shows you a tile to stay off.
How to play
- Watch the scouts. They go one after another. A tile a robot stood on holds; the tile it fell through does not. Hold to fast-forward the scouting.
- Or go now. Tap GO NOW (or press G) to stop the scouting and cross with what you have seen. Every scout you skip makes each tile of that stage worth a quarter more, up to three times as much.
- Cross. Step forward, left or right with the arrow keys or WASD, or tap the tile you want to step to. There is no going back.
- Beat the clock. You get 8 seconds and 2.5 more for every row of the bridge (a quarter less in the storm), and three lives.
- Throw things. Tap THROW at the bottom left, then tap the tile you want to test: a ring shows where it will land. You can also drag to fling it (forward, or pulled back like a catapult), or press F, aim with the arrow keys and press Space. What lands on a real tile stays a moment; what lands on light falls through.
Zones of the evening
Every five stages the sky changes, and a new rule comes in with it.
Dusk (stages 1 to 5)
The bridge as it is: watch the scouts, then cross.
Night (stages 6 to 10)
Tiles flicker in the dark now and then. It means nothing: real tiles and light flicker alike.
Storm (stages 11 to 15)
Rain and lightning, and the clock is a quarter shorter.
Fog (stage 16 on)
While you cross, you can see only three rows ahead. The lamps along the rails still mark every row.
Once you have reached a zone, the title screen lets you start again from the beginning of it.
The daily bridge
Every day there are five new bridges, the same for everyone, each bigger than the last, in one of the four zones. You cross them in the plain shoes with a stone, a ball and a paper plane, and three lives. Your best of the day is kept, and you can share how far you got.
The things you throw
Stone
Does not go far, about four tiles, but lands exactly where you aimed.
Ball
Goes about seven tiles and bounces on from a tile that holds, trying the two beyond it.
Paper plane
Goes furthest, about twelve tiles, and drifts, so it may not land where you aimed.
You start with two things and the bag holds nine. Every crossing adds one, and one more if you crossed without a fall.
Shoes
Four pairs, each good at one thing. The first is yours from the start; the others are won by playing and then kept.
Street Pair
No tricks. Just a good pair of shoes.
Surefoot
Once a stage, one step holds even on a tile of light. Won by reaching stage 4.
Skyhopper
Once a stage, jump two tiles and clear the one between. Won by stepping on 30 tiles that no robot had tried.
Deep Pockets
One more thing to throw for every crossing. Won by crossing five stages without a fall.
Tips
- Every stage adds a row, and every fourth stage a column, so there is always more to remember. The robots never go faster; only the bridge gets longer.
- Look for the line the robots shared: a tile that several of them crossed is the surest one.
- A step onto a tile no robot tried is worth double points, so a bold line pays, if you trust it. Going before the scouting is over multiplies that again.
- Save a plane for a long bridge, and keep stones for the tile you cannot decide about.
